Here's the text that appears in the upper right. For those of us like me who couldn't read it. Also I found pressing ESC closes the recipe.
Press R, to read Okra Stew recipe
Press E, to talk with farmer or go into the house
Press F, to feed chickens
You need to plant plants for extra stew
Buy seeds from a farmer.
You need other ingredients.

I made a mistake in the game code, but it still won't interfere with the gameplay because you can go to the kitchen to cook a meal.
